Graffiti Film Removal and Replacement: What Business Owners Should Know

When storefront or commercial glass is tagged, the first question is whether the damage is in a sacrificial film layer or in the glass itself. Anti-graffiti film can give a property manager a replaceable surface, but the response process should be clear before vandalism occurs.

Installation before damage

Anti-graffiti film is installed as a protective exterior layer on suitable commercial glass. If the film is scratched, painted, or etched, the damaged layer can often be removed and replaced without replacing the entire pane.

Removal and replacement after tagging

A technician should inspect the surface, determine whether the film can be cleanly peeled or requires more labor, protect adjacent surfaces, remove the damaged material, prepare the glass, and install the replacement film.
